Experimental determination of effective diffusivities during corn drying

Abstract

Water effective diffusivities of dried corn are calculated according to experimental results of corn drying. The diffusivities are obtained in the expected range of values for air temperatures usually used in corn drying. It is noticed that variation of air velocity has a significantly smaller impact on obtained results than the variation of air temperature. The results obtained using different corrections of functional dependency between logarithmic moisture ratio and time according to different types of fit functions and in line with statistical parameters standpoint are also analyzed.
