Abstract: Electromagnetic pollution is a concern for everyone. The role of the monitoring of time-varying electromagnetic fields in populated areas is to inform the public about non-ionized radiation risks. Monitoring can also be the first step in the investigation and actual exposure assessment in order to provide protection from EM fields. We conducted several electric field measurements in order to obtain real life data and check whether the electric field exceeds the limits in a highly occupied outdoor area, in the frequency range covered by the used field probe. Obtained measurement results confirm the feasibility of an automated remote monitoring system. © 2013 IEEE.
