Abstract: © 2018 Journal of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals Achieving a company's business goals depends largely on the reliable operation and performance of its network infrastructure. This article describes a Software Defined Networking (SDN) hybrid network based on implementation of Floodlight (an open source controller for SDN) and SDN functionality in part of an enterprise network. It also examines implementation issues and answers plus the complexity of hybrid architecture from a network management perspective. Finally, the benefits of SDN technology implementation in enterprise networks are outlined.
