Abstract: © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG. Traditional way of collecting spatial data leaves the dominant role to modern technologies, especially when it comes to mass storage of spatial forms. Modern technologies of data collection and the obvious development of geo-information technologies provide a wide range of information and indicate that the moment of transition from conventional methods to introducing new technologies for making digital topographic maps, especially when it is needed to keep track of objects of cultural and historical significance has come. This paper presents the advantages, characteristics and the components of modern surveying technologies, such as digital photogrammetry, GPS, LIDAR and UAV systems. Also, a software tool is presented-MicroSurveyCAD, which is used to process point clouds, in different variants.
