Abstract: © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020. This paper describes the development of an augmented reality application for learning pneumatic control. The goal is to improve the workbook of pneumatic control with additional digital information. Through the implementation of the developed application, the assumption is that it will be easier for students to understand the functionality of complex pneumatic schemes. The augmented reality application was developed for the Android platform. Students are able to download it from the Internet and use it at home, at the university or anywhere else. The application recognizes the solution of the exercise and the pneumatic components in the workbook and covers it with additional information (for example, simulation in form of a video clip). The developed augmented reality application can be easily introduced into teaching activities in two university study courses of pneumatic control. Augmented reality applications, as the one described in this paper, can be a very useful tool for students during their studies, as well as for others who want to learn more about this topic.
