The visioplasticity method was applied to obtain the stress distribution within the workpiece volume in the process of cold forward extrusion of steel. All stress components as well as effective stress and strain and stress indicator β were determined. As a boundary condition necessary for the evaluation of stress components, radial stress measured by pin load cell on the container wall, was used. On the base of stress components material formability potential in forward extrusion was evaluated. © 1990.en
