Issue Date: | 1-Dec-2011 | Journal: | 2011 19th Telecommunications Forum, TELFOR 2011 - Proceedings of Papers | Abstract: | Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) typically consists of large number of small, low-cost battery powered wireless nodes that are used together for monitoring some environmental variables (e.g. temperature, humidity, etc.) In order to increase system lifetime, it is of critical importance to preserve energy. Thus, we investigate ways to decrease power consumption of every node in decision making scenarios by decreasing the amount of network traffic, without compromising system reliability.
