Abstract: This paper deals with the mathematical modeling of the steady-state effects of automatic secondary voltage control (voltage control by means of coordinated injected reactive power from remote generator buses). In this paper, an extended load flow model is proposed in which these effects are encompassed by application of the automatic adjustment approach. To include the effects of remote voltage control correctly in the load flow calculation, the generalization of the standard PV type bus is done by introducing new types of buses. The practical importance of this mathematical model lies in its easy utilization in professional software packages for steady-state security assessment. The proposed methodology was verified on a test example of the Yugoslav high voltage power system. © 1992.
