This is particularly the case with a high amount of inverter based distributed energy resources that can introduce non-linearity and higher fault current contribution, especially during the transients. In that regard, it is important to develop a new and a more precise model of the inverter based distributed energy resources, focusing on the initial fault response of the inverter. The most important factors, influencing the initial inverter response to the grid faults are investigated within the paper.
