Abstract: © 2018 IEEE. Autonomous driving is one of the largest trends in the automotive industry. One of the levels of autonomous driving is a semi-autonomous driving, where in addition to the fact that the vehicle has a large number of autonomous systems, the driver can still operate the vehicle. This paper describes the method of using the virtual cockpit to control a car from a remote location. The main idea of the virtual cockpit is that the remote operator has a panoramic view of the vehicle environment, based on real time video streams from cameras which track the environment. In this way, the remote operator has control over the vehicle and can manage it. Special emphasis will be on the implementation of the virtual cockpit on the embedded platform and its performance.
