Title: | Energy normalization in automatic speech recognition | Authors: | Jakovljević, Nikša Janev M. Pekar, Darko Mišković, Dragiša |
Issue Date: | 7-Oct-2008 | Journal: | Lecture Notes in Computer Science (including subseries Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence and Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics) | Abstract: | In this paper a novel method for energy normalization is presented. The objective of this method is to remove unwanted energy variations caused by different microphone gains, various loudness levels across speakers, as well as changes of single speaker loudness level over time. The solution presented here is based on principles used in automatic gain control. The use of this method results in relative improvement of the performances of an automatic speech recognition system by 26 %. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. | URI: | https://open.uns.ac.rs/handle/123456789/11839 | ISBN: | 3540873902 | ISSN: | 3029743 | DOI: | 10.1007/978-3-540-87391-4_44 |
