Abstract: © 2018 IEEE. Global tendency of constant energy price growth combined with environmental consequences becoming more adverse as a result of thriftless consumption of fossil fuels, raises the need for exploitation of every renewable energy source available. Ocean wave energy has lately caught much of attention due to its immense energy potential. Numerous different systems have been employed so far, but no dedicated technology has yet been adopted. This paper will present a brief overview of currently used systems. However, the main focus will be on results obtained from experimental setup devised to investigate particular control algorithm for electrical generator in one type of ocean wave energy conversion system.
