Abstract: Several methods for DC voltage control of voltage (boost) type AC/DC converter are known. They differ in the performance and the complexity of used hardware/software. One of the basic requirements also included in control method is nearly sinusoidal input (AC) current with unity power factor. The aim of this paper is to present an easy to implement method for control of active AC/DC converter. It is based on the combination of adaptive hysteresis and predictive current fixed frequency current (PCFF) control. For fast and accurate response of output voltage load feed-forward is included. It controls the output voltage ensuring the unity power factor and minimal harmonic distortion of both current and voltage at the input of converter.
