A method of frequency deviation measurement is presented. The use of a two-arm bridge is based on the use of delta-sigma (Δ-Σ) modulation and arithmetic operations on two synchronous Δ-Σ modulated pulse streams. The simulation results indicate a good linear relationship between frequency deviation and pulse count over the operating range. Stability of the clock and components mismatch of the Δ-Σ modulator are not critical for operation. Performance comparisons with existing solutions are given.en
