Title: | An approach to a microscopic theory of magneto-optical phenomena | Authors: | Davidović-Ristovski G. Ristovski, Ljubica Tošić B. |
Issue Date: | 1-Jan-1978 | Journal: | Physica B+C | Abstract: | It is shown that in a system possessing magnetic as well as optical properties (magneto-optical crystal) the hybrid excitations appear, being the "mixture" of spin waves, excitons and transverse photons. The equations defining the spectra of these hybrid excitations are derived. It is shown also, that the dipole and the magnetic moment of the system, which are induced by external currents, are connected by the magneto-optical tensor. The components of the tensor are expressed through the microcharacteristics of the system and some of its properties are discussed. © 1978. | URI: | https://open.uns.ac.rs/handle/123456789/9904 | ISSN: | 03784363 | DOI: | 10.1016/0378-4363(78)90053-0 |
