In this paper a mobile telemedicine system based on the latest advances in wireless telecommunication technologies and communication devices is presented. The system uses inteligent wearable sensors organised in a Bluetooth piconet controlled by a central application implemented on a mobile phone or a PDA. The piconet is organised automatically, without any user interevention. Observed data is stored locally at the control node and is then transferred periodically, on request or in case of emergency to a remote database or a doctor in charge. © 2003 IEEE.en
