dc.description.abstract | In this paper one approach to MPEG-2 MP (Main Profile) to MPEG-4 SP (Simple Profile) video bitstream transcoding is presented. This approach uses some similarities between the two coding algorithms to avoid unnecessary operations (dct transform and motion compensated prediction calculation) and perform transcoding directly in the frequency domain.
