A two-dimensional, steady, heterogenous mathematical model for the surface combustion of straw in a moving bed was developed. Model includes: moisture evaporation, straw pyrolysis, gas produc combustion and char combustion. The model provides information of the propagation of the temperature front, reaction front rate, as well as remaining gas species composition in a bed. Simulated bed temperature as well as gas and solid species composition as function of the bed lenght and various rate of moving bed are shown in this work. This model is suitable for simulation of surface combustion of straw in travelling grate as well as in the other tipes of burners using modification.en
