Abstract: The Mediterranean discourse of Andrić’s short stories is an obvious and inexorable metatext which contributes the structure, vocabulary and semantics of this part of Andrić’s writings.. This paper deals with the Mediterranean discourse in the examples of several cities: Rome, Dubrovnik, Sintra and Lisbon. The focus of this research is Andrić’s attitude towards the Mediterranean, as well as the dominant features of this clime in the writings of the author.
