Failure modes in micro cross-shaped hydroforming process are investigated experimentally using a new micro tube hydroforming (MTHF) system with ultrahigh-pressure capacity. A phosphorous-deoxidized copper tube with an outer diameter of 500µm and thickness of 100µm is used in the THF experiment. It is confirmed that several failure modes, rupture, buckling, wrinkling were occurred at different locations as with macro-scale THF process. | en |
