dc.description.abstract© 2016 IEEE. Microwave tomography is a microwave imaging method in which the resolution is limited by noise and modeling errors. To gain on performance, antennas are usually approximately modeled. This paper presents a method for efficient and accurate antenna modeling in a 3D FDTD. Appropriate selection of antenna types makes accurate modeling efficient. Two antenna types suitable for MWT and efficient modeling are simulated and compared by metrics relevant for microwave tomography.en
