dc.description.abstract© 2015 IEEE. With the transition towards web based solutions, applications are placed within the browser, thus limiting their access to the user's system. Web applications that require unrestrained access to the user's system are often paired up with desktop counterparts, forcing the user to use two different applications instead of one. In this paper we describe the utilization of an embedded java applet, in order to gain unrestrained access to the user's system and use it for the execution of automatic tests.en
