Abstract: Finishing works (LOHN Jobs) with the EU countries had a share in slowing down the fall of textile industry in the countries within the region. For the Western European manufacturers, finishing works were very important, not only in textile industry but also in other industrial branches, because of the lower labour costs in the Central and Eastern European countries (CIE). On the other hand, for the CIE manufacturers, finishing works have meant safe sale and better access to the European market, as well as acquisition of the new management and technological knowledge, acquiring highly needed financial support and new jobs.
