Abstract: We study stability of a rotating compressed nano-rod clamped at one and free at the other end. By using the Euler method of adjacent equilibrium configuration, we determine critical values for angular speed and compressive force. Post-critical shape of the rod is obtained by solving the non-linear system of equilibrium equations for several values of parameters.
