Abstract: The major pathway of metabolic transformation of N-deacetyl-N-formylcolchicine is the oxidative cytochrome P450 dependent O-demethylation of substituents in the aromatic ring A and tropolone ring C. It was found that O-demethylation (both, in vitro and in vivo) takes place predominantly in the aromatic ring, especially at position 2. © 1992 Springer-Verlag.
