A simple approach to the analysis of waveguides terminated in infinite, perfectly conducting flange is proposed. A point-matching procedure is applied to solving an integral equation containing double integrals with 1/R type singularity. The aperture field is approximated by the incident, dominant-mode field and reflected modes with unknown relative amplitudes. An accurate solution is obtained with a small number of modes using an overdetermined system of point-matching equations solved in the least-squares sense.en
