Using the concept of brackets, we propose to treat the reciprocity and antireciprocity of resistive n-ports as a kind of commutativity of controlling variables. On the basis of brackets formalism, it is shown that at least locally both reciprocity and antireciprocity provide the existence of weakly hybrid representation. In particular, reciprocity as well antireciprocity of an m dimensional n-port imply m < n. © 1990 IEEEen
