Abstract: The crystals of Mn(OH2)6(NO3)2 are orthorhombic, space group Pnma, with a = 12.484, b = 12.983, c = 6.336 Å and Z = 4. The structure is composed of cations [Mn(OH2)6]2+ and anions NO3−. The hexaquocations and nitrate anions are held together by a network of hydrogen bonds. The M11—OH2 distances are between 2.157 and 2.211 Å. The P value is 0.058. The structure is isomorphic with that of Zn(OH2)s(NO3)2. © 1976, Walter de Gruyter. All rights reserved.
