Abstract: Investigations on two fractions of spray dried ceramic particles were carried out to address relative density, porosity, pore diameters and compressive strength of sintered ceramic tiles as functions of the amorphous phase quantity and the initial particle size. The quantities of amorphous phase were determined by employing Image Processing Analyzing System (IPAS). The results lead to the conclusion that the quantity of amorphous phase effects the characteristics of small particle samples and much more than the characteristics of large particle samples.
