Abstract: The rapid development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can freely be said to have marked the past century, This is the reason why last century is often referred to as the 'century of information'. A new concept of business operations, using ICT, also known as e-Business, is aspiring to become the dominant form of business operations, and the business entities failing to adjust to the new business practices are faced with the risk of disappearing. Viewing this assertion in the context of economic globalisation, it is clearly inevitable for the economic entities in the Republic of Serbia to join this process, and the state is obliged to create the preconditions and facilitate the development of e-Business. The article gives a brief summary of the e-Market on the territory of Serbia, particularly of those segments where the active role is played by individuals. In addition to analysing the state and identifying the problems, the article also proposes solutions, i.e. identifies the potential future ways of development which may lead to the expansion of the e-Market in the country.
