Abstract: Introduction: Mass noncommunicable diseases (MND), such as cancer, are the leading cause of death worldwide. Second only to tobacco use as the most important cause of cancer, unhealthy diet puts nutrition prevention of malignant diseases high up the ladder of general prevention measures. Aims: The aim of this article is to illustrate the most common diet-related causes of cancer, as well as to promote efficient methods of cancer medical nutrition prevention. Materials and methods: Illustration of the most common diet-related risk factors for malignant neoplasms and medical nutrition prevention was done by analysis of highly valued scientific literature, reports, documents and programs of preeminent international organizations dealing with health, nutrition and physical activity. Results and disscusion: Link between high energy intake, insufficient physical activity, sedentery lifestyle, overweight, obesity and cancers has already been ascertained. "Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health" and "The Second European Action Plan for Food and Nutrition Policy" represent World Health Organization's approach to prevention of malignant diseases among other mass noncommunicable diseases. Medical nutrition prevention measures are the most important recommendation of World Health Organization's programs for cancer prevention on a population scale, as well as on an individual level. Conclusion: All healthy individuals should pursue the recommendations given by WCRF, AICR, IARC, UICC, WHO and other international and national o be integrated in nutrition care process by a registered dietitian.
