Title: Effect of lubrication on the die loading during cold extrusion of steel
Authors: Plancak M.
Issue Date: 1-Nov-1988
Journal: Tribologie und Schmierungstechnik
Abstract: Cold extrusion of steel has significant advantages over metal-cutting processes. An important factor influencing the die loading during cold extrusion of steel is the friction on lubrication during the process. In this paper the effect of three different lubricants on the radial loading of the dies in reverse cup extrusion is investigated. The three lubricants were phosphate coating + MoS2, phosphate coating + mineral oil, and MoS2 by itself.
