Abstract: A series of glassy-ceramics of composition Fex[(Sb2S3)0.75(SbI 3)0.25]100-x, with x varying in interval between 0 and 3, has been studied by X- ray diffraction method. Powdered samples studied were heat-treated at room temperature and other temperatures up to 900°C. The XRD spectra showed that the ternary ferroelectric crystaline centers SbSI exist in a glass-matrix as dominant structural units until the decomposition of material starts. The XRD data have enabled the identification of the occurence of crystalline compounds Sb2S3, Sb2O3, Sb2O4, FeSb2 and FeS2. © 2000 Trans Tech Publications.
