Issue Date: 1-Dec-1986
Abstract: Design considerations and technical performances are given for an experimental UHF radio remote control system, intended for load management. The criteria that are imposed by the concept of decentralized load management are discussed, and it is shown that a radio system is advantageous both from the economical and the technical aspect. In densely populated urban areas the most suitable radio band is the UHF one. The technical aspects of an actual system are discussed. It is shown that powerful error-correcting codes lend themselves for this application.
