Title: | New type of ground double enveloping worm gear drive | Authors: | Simon V. | Issue Date: | 1-Dec-1989 | Abstract: | On the gear tooth surface of the classical double enveloping worm gear drive (With straight-lined axial worm profile) three sections, with sharp intersections, exist. These edges are breaking down the oil film and are worsening the conditions of the elastohydrodynamic lubrication. To overcome these difficulties, a new type of double enveloping worm gear drive with ground worm and smooth gear tooth surface is developed. The smooth surface of gear teeth is achieved by the introduction of a new technology for worm and gear processing. The worm surface is generated by the conical surface of the disc or finger type grinding wheel and it is with an appropriately changing lead angle. The gear tooth surface is generated by a single, curve-lined cutting edge whose motion is governed by the established rule. | URI: | https://open.uns.ac.rs/handle/123456789/11382 |
