This paper presents the performance analysis of different operation modes of the coordinated secondary voltage control in case of voltage instability. It was found that the basic pilot-bus voltage control mode is not suitable in case of an already initiated voltage instability process, so that the new emergency assist mode of operation is proposed. Finally, the performance of the basic and the proposed emergency assist modes are studied on the test example of the power system.en
