The aim of the present study was to make an analysis of tendencies in the potato production, with a time series analysis, in the Republic of Serbia during a period of 50 years (1947-1996). The existence of cyclical components in potato area, total annual potato production and in the average yield per hectare production was investigated with statistical methods. Results of the analysis showed that the potato area and total production have cyclical character, while potato yield per hectare production has not cyclical component.en
