The paper examines the links among fungus (Aspergillus niger) actions, textural and surface characteristics of clay roofing tiles and weathering conditions. Field (roofs) and laboratory experiments (150 days) were conducted in order to investigate the action of the fungus culture. This study illustrates the genesis and growth of the nano-crystalline forms on the surface of clay roofing tiles and in the tile pores, which points out the importance of the fungus hyphen penetration into the ceramic support as well as its nature.en
