This paper gives an analysis of the computational complexity of interpolation (part of the decoder's inter prediction) in H.264 decoder. The number and types of operations required are listed. Besides the theoretical analysis, a practical approach to the problem is given, including analysis of computational overhead and problems with horizontal and vertical filtering. © 2006 by MIPRO.
