dc.description.abstractDevelopment of information society is a part of global world development process. Measuring the status of an information society is important for tracking further directions of this development. There are many methodologies for information society measuring and monitoring process, developed by the leading world organizations. An important part of these methodologies is definition of a core set of information society indicators. This paper deals with the issue of evolution of the information society indicators, the context and the role of information society indicators and the process of defining and using these indicators in the information society monitoring and benchmarking process.en
