In this paper we have developed a software simulation based reliability model through follow-up of failures of the SRs 1200x24/4x0 (400kW) + VR bucket wheel excavator. The lack of information on failures or a small number of failures per observed subsystem in complex reparable technical systems such as this one presented an obstacle in forming a reliability model. In this paper, a flexible model is designed to ensure its widest possible implementation. This simulation model is based on sketchy and incomplete data on failures which serve to predict the reliability of the entire system via block diagram of reliability and various laws of reliability of each decomposed subsystem using a dual parameters Weibull's distribution. Applications were originally developed and they enable the prediction of the reliability of the excavator in a completely new manner.en
