Relationships between retention behavior of seventeen TAGs and their molecular characteristics were studied using chemometric approach. Quantitative structure-retention relationship (QSRR) analysis was carried out on retention time values (tr) obtained by high pressure liquid chromatography to identify structural requirements of different TAGs for their retention. Principal component analysis (PCA) was performed in order to select molecular descriptors that best describe retention behavior of the compounds investigated, and to determine the similarities among molecules. The accurate mathematical models were developed for predicting the retention behaviour of some TAGs.
