dc.description.abstract | The influence of an external electrical field on the properties of order-disorder ferroelectrics is investigated. The temperature dependence of the relevant characteristics is taken into account. The absorption and refraction of ferroelectrics, as well as the influence of an external field, are more significant at low temperatures. In the vicinity of the transition temperature the presence of the external field becomes practically irrelevant, the absorption processes disappear and the dielectric permeability tends linearly to zero when theta to theta c. The external field shifts the absorption peaks towards high frequencies and, generally, only stimulates absorption of ferroelectrics in the high-frequency domain. © 1987 IOP Publishing Ltd. | en |
