In this work, the cathode-electrolyte structure for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) application is prepared by deposition of porous La0.5Sr 0.5CoO3 (LSC) film on the surface of the dense nanocrystalline sol-gel derived 3 mol% Y2O3 stabilized zirconia electrolyte (3Y-ZrO2). The perovskite powder is prepared by the wet-chemical synthesis technique using metal-nitrates, mixed with a resin and organic solvents to form perovskite paste, and in form of the paste deposited as a thick film by screen-printing technique. Microstructure and electrochemical performances of the LSC/3Y-ZrO2 structure are investigated. © 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.en_US
