Title: | The influence of hydrothermal extraction conditions on recovery and properties of hemicellulose from wheat chaff – A modeling approach | Authors: | Đorđević, Tatjana Antov, Mirjana |
Issue Date: | Dec-2018 | Publisher: | Elsevier | Journal: | Biomass and Bioenergy | Abstract: | © 2018 Elsevier Ltd The influence of conditions of hydrothermal treatment of wheat chaff on recovery and some properties of extracted hemicellulose was investigated. Recovery and molecular weight of extracted hemicellulose were positively correlated with modified combined severity factor. Modeling of results showed that alkali concentration influenced significantly hemicellulose recovery and molecular weight. Statistical analysis indicated highly significant positive impact of ferulic acid content in extracted hemicellulose on its antioxidant activities resulting in models with extreme significances and high correlation coefficients. Water and oil holding capacities were well described by applied linear regression models, too, determining hemicellulose molecular weight and ferulic acid content as dominant characteristics, respectively. | URI: | https://open.uns.ac.rs/handle/123456789/1061 | ISSN: | 09619534 | DOI: | 10.1016/j.biombioe.2018.09.030 |
